The unique design of the Twist Joint Castro-Viejo features handles that rotate 90 degrees through the joint to the tip. This rotation eliminates the traditionally machined-flat surfaces at the joint, which can snag sutures if they are not finished and beveled properly, and leaves a consistently smooth instrument surface from the handle to the tip.
