204 POSTERIOR SICKLE SCALERS
204 Scalers are the most popular posterior sickle scaler, and are truly 'universal'. Available in four main tip and shank styles, the 204's angulations orient the thin sickle tips correctly for posterior application, while the handle does not interfere with the opposing arch. The standard 204 is shown at left reaching interproximally, with room to spare.
The 204 has a long terminal shank and tip for excellent reach. The 204J features a heavier tip design for severe calculus removal. The 204S has a shorter and tighter angulations and a shorter reach for finer access and visualization. The 204SD is sized similar to the 204S, but with a more 'open' angulation for better distal access.
